In KL. What do I looking for...?

"Allah (God) and Rab (the Sustainer) are repated 2800 and 950 times respetively in the sacred text; 'Ilm (knowledge) come third, with 750 reptitions. The Prophet Muhammad commanded all Muslims to seek knowledge wherever and whenever they could."

I just end up my holidays after being in Indonesia for around 2 weeks. When i was in Indonesia..I got a question from my friends about something that's really funny for me. a ridiculous question comes from my friends which is about the amount of money that I got it from Malaysia. ha ha ha..Maybe they thought me that I kind of that person..

I just want to be of what many Muslim scholars have done in their journey to another places...as far as I know from their books, they never put their intentions in their journey to get better economically and materially. I guess, yes!!! perhaps they could be better in that sides and maybe not.. but why do I never found in their books that they wrote it in emphasizing on material and economic sides. Think about it...?!!

I just remember when Aidil Fitri came to us..there are children keep coming in from one house to another houses to looking and asking for "Duit Raya (money)" ..even their parents might not command them to do so..those are in the level of children... THINK AND THINK about it.

I think, when we are hungry and thirsty we would eat and drink... However, not everyone, who doesn't know he attempts to know....and some of people rejecting to know..Nauzubillah..

I am not saying that material is not important but what i want to share here is that there is something more important to write up and to share with you....That is 'ilm (knowledge).

OUR CONSCIOUSNESS

“I have not created the Jins and people but that they should worship Me.”

(The Holy Qur’an 51: 56).

To live in this world is like a journey in a dream; it carries us through emotions, but it offers little that is real. If I said so, it could mean that struggling with this world is like struggling with a dream. The dream that is true lies or the fact that is not real. When we deny its visions, can you see what was obscured in our sleep.

To make our life becomes real that is not merely to be struggling with this worldly life. What I mean here, we have to overcome the first problem to be tackled in every act we do is the purpose of the act because it would determine the process, the extent and also the evaluation of the action.

By the intention we can make our action not only a mundane duty but also a religious duty “for the sake of the hereafter”. The Holy Prophet Muhammad said: “Actions are in accordance with intention.”

There are things that consider as a mundane duty. It is like Eating, sleeping, showering and etc. But they could be the form of a religious duty because of the intention before taking these activities. We can precisely say that worldly in the form and hereafter in the meaning.

In other cases, we can find that it is a religious duty but ironically it is just a mundane worth in the meaning because of miss-intention. It is like going to the mosque but for the sake of someone not for Him alone or offering “sedekah” in order to be called as “the have” or a rich man.

When we take wrong intention, it means we are travelling in a dream land that we never know what is the end?

SOURCE OF VALUE

I just want to share that the value of good or bad deed is not given by the majority of the people but from the God through His Revelation and Prophet Muhammad SAW. What happen today in our society, the value of a good or bad is determined by the majority of the people even it is not promise-able in the Qur'an and Prophetic tradition. a small example in the curriculum of the study, directly or indirectly, it is like everyone should be rather believe that human being is created from the evolution of the monkey without filter to encounter formally to this idea in the curriculum of our study. I think it is still happen nowadays.

Again, the value of good or bad deed is not determined by the level of like or unlike. The story is mostly happen in the thought of family members between parents and their child. What I heard that parents like to ask the child regarding of child's willingness to do this or those while this child is not mature enough to consider weather it is good or not for him. "hi kid please go to school for study!!" Mom asked the child. Then her child answered "I don't want Mom because I'm not interest to do this." Ironically the Mom just follow the child's without any coercions while the child still continue his delight by supporting of his parents anyway.

I think we should say to him "it is not important weather you like it or not".

Commonly, child doesn't know, what is good for him and what should be stayed away from him. The child only knows what he wants and what he doesn't want at the same time "want" or "willingness" is like "Syahwah (Nafs)" that potentially controlled by Syaitan.

Maybe we feel that Allah has commanded us many things to do in this world based on His will but not our will which that is we always like it. We should remember anytime and everywhere that like or dislike is just our feeling (nafs) which is mostly dominated by Devil (Syaitan).
Let do in every move based on what Allah has taught to Muhammad SAW and what Prophet Muhammad SAW has taught us. Then, our move comes with His company and guidance.

Anyway, everything comes from Him and it is for us as a human being and not for Him at all because He still exist without humans' submission.

The Wealth Means to Me

Each day is the same, but each different in a way of observing the life of His Creation growing in front of me. days pas by and I lose the track of the dates in many ways. But still never put my hands down until the end of my life. Life still move simulotaneously, the only me could give the meaning of its move. (peace be upon Him).

Sometimes I got the ideas when I pass through the road going to campus or going out from my home rent for teaching or anything else. Some of the ideas have been expressed into my wall of Facebook while others maybe only glancing up in my mind and forgot it without being grasped into some notes. Supposedly, all the ideas are based on my reading, listening, dialoguing and also adjusting from the reality in front of me.

I often heard the words "poor and rich" to measure the amount of someone properties. It could be found in many electronic media and even newspaper. I say precisely that the more properties we have and the expensive belongings we use are always being the categories of today's people to be called as "the have". It is like world that the only reach people could compete as the Forbes magazine showed in their annual report.

"The have" could also be found from the sweat of their parents while mostly they still be judging as rich even they never know how to work with their own sweat. Those are the worldly measurement of the wealth that can be seen around us.

Frankly saying that we cannot hypocrite ourselves to the luxurious of those worldly materials such as gold, diamond, beautiful cars and so on because human is created to have a natural sympathetic to the worldly matters. For further detail just look on surah Ali-Imran (3): 14.

"Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: Women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world’s life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (To return to)."

Well, let me put down what I understood the meaning of wealth according to me based on my contemplation:

  • The wealth is when you have a healthy body physically and psychologically.
  • The wealth is when your job is enjoyable and permissible by Him.
  • The wealth is not what you get but what you have shared to others.
  • The wealth is not what you want but what you need.
  • The wealth is when you treat others as best you can.
  • The wealth is when you can follow His rules and avoid of what is banned by Him.
  • The wealth is when you have a kind neighbour.
  • The wealth is when your belongings are meaningful to you and others.
  • The wealth is when your earthly activities in the sake of Him only.
  • The wealth is not to say "give up".
  • The wealth is not to hope the gift from others.

All mentions above could be added some time. Each day is the same but the events and the feeling always different but the faith still the same.

Touch and Read= Smile

let us put our effort to make our early activities moving forward as best as we can. No reason for us to run slowly as the technology comes to make our dream near by the real world. In other words, recently our world is together closer by technology. Of course, all these devises are the result of human endowment and must be projected by them in function.

I think you are quite familiar with an article made in "PDF". You can read through on line without buying a book requirement. Just do search through Google by then write the book title in it by then you can read preview, summary of the book you need and you can even find whole textbooks to be copied easily. These are the result of the modern technology and everything can be possibly handled through it.

It just simple instance of the output of the modern technology. It seems quite easy to get the copy of the books worldwide by cheap prices and even free. However, I don't think it is efficient.

I opine it must be bother me so much in term of the time constraint as well as my level of satisfaction in reading a book through soft files. Reading through a soft file either PDF or word document is tired enough in my eyes. Again, as my reading mood is coming suddenly in any time but at the same time the soft file of the book is in off laptop. Of course, it must be really disappointed in me very much. Frankly speaking, Pdf, and soft file documents cannot bring me relax to be read.

Still the hard copy of the book is favorite for me. Even so, it cannot be denied that the book is also being published extensively because of the modern technology. We cannot run away from the technology. For those who ignored the technological change, this like that they are not part of this world.

My suggestion is just use the technology in front of you in proper way as we are human endowed by the special and right position of human beings in the universe by our Lord. By then, technological change and development should be shaped by fear of Allah. Then it is manifestation Tawhid as an ethic in action or a active way.

Reading a book began as a small project that turned into its own journey. It is an act of imagination, ideas forming into words on a page. By reading we make our mind is riding on the flow of words by then we prove it through the real world in front of us. Those are the result of my visit to the book fair 2011 in PWTC Kuala Lumpur. Really happy to see the books been touching and reading by the people around. Thank you .. :)

Happy Weekend

Today is my holiday (30/04/2011). Alhamdulillah, I can bit relax this weekend as my last week-end was ended in Singapore for some purposes. Having weekend with the book in my hand is really best moment that I wish it when I was in crowd work.

The book that I read is “Essays-Perspectives- Opinions. M. Fethullah Gulen. I bought it yesterday when I was walking around in the book fair 2011 in PWTC. Obviously, cannot wait to read it after having heard about him from many references.

Previously, I heard about this book when I attend a Seminar in IAIS in 2010 which has been organized by the Turkish people in Malaysia collaborated with IAIS. I saw his books on the booth of the conference. The first sight when I saw his book was that M. Fethullah Gulen was really odd to my mind and never heard his name before.

The second impression, I heard his name from Prof. Dr. Wan Mohd Nor wan Daud, when my lecturer invited us (me, Ali muchtar and Fejri Gasman) to come to prof. Wan’s house two months ago. At that time, Prof. Wan was just arrived from turkey for presenting paper. He explained many things regarding the current issues worldwide by then, turned into story of Islam in turkey as well as the influence of M. Fethullah Gulen in turkey and other countries.

Knowing how the impact of his thought as well as the contribution to the turkeys’ people, it awakes Prof wan to write a book regarding of him. However, the book is still in the progress of writing. My Allah gives you a best way to write it up.

Now, I still have one book on my hand that written by Gulen. After having reading his book and read up his contribution and achievement, it brings me to have all his books and read them and hopefully I can summarize it.

Tomorrow is the last day for book fair in this year and still have time to consider my desire either to buy more books or not. Hu hu…

Let me quote some words when he was elected as the world’s top public intellectual.

"I have never imagined being or wished to be chosen as something important in the world. I have always tried to be a humble servant and a humble member of humanity. Readers were extremely in naming me one of the world’s top public intellectuals, a degree which I can never see myself as entitled to”.
